Home and Away’s Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou) has been hellbent on tracking down sly Suzie McAllister (Bridie Carter), who made off with her house deposit money earlier this year.
The soap stalwart has made it her mission to locate the schemer, who pulled the wool over several of Summer Bay’s finest, including John Palmer (Shane Withington).
With assistance from John and fellow victim Stephen (Bren Foster), Leah has made significant progress in her quest.
‘Leah is struggling once again but in a different way,’ actress Ada Nicodemou said, ‘so it is nice to see this time around that the storyline is not about tragedy, but its more about justice and making Susie be accountable for the pain that she has caused Leah and Justin and other Summer Bay residents.’
The popular character is certainly seeking justice, but little does she know what’s about to transpire, as in shocking scenes, which will air on Channel 5 next week, a body washes up on the Bay.
Yes, you guessed it: it’s Susie McAllister!
But just what is Leah’s reaction to the horrific news?
‘Shock and devastation,’ said Ada. ‘Even though Susie caused so much heartache for Leah and Justin, she wanted Susie to go to prison so there was some sort of justice.
‘Leah still wouldn’t want anyone to be hurt like that.’
An investigation commences shortly after the body is discovered, and given that Susie had many an enemy in the Bay, it’s safe to say that the killer could be just about anyone!
Leah, due to her obsession with tracking Susie down, is questioned by the police, which Ada says is scary for the character.
‘She has just gone through a really challenging time and on top of everything that has happened with losing all of their money and her relationship deteriorating, to then find out that she could be a suspect in a murder case is unbelievable,’ said the actress.

It’s not just Susie’s death that leaves Leah reeling either, as she is forced to question if beau Justin Morgan (James Stewart) is capable of murder, due to his erratic behaviour in recent weeks.
‘At first, Leah is still in shock by what has happened to Susie, so she doesn’t really think about who it could be’, continued Ada, ‘she is obviously afraid that a murderer is walking amongst them and wants the police to find out who did it.
‘However, after Stephen queries with Leah about Justin’s involvement, Leah’s confidence in Justin’s innocence slowly chips away as she sits down and really thinks about what Justin has recently done, and whether he could be capable of that.’
Home and Away’s ‘Who Killed Susie?’ story kicks off Monday July 26 at 1:15pm ad 6:30pm on Channel 5.
