Whether you’re in need of some autumnal blooms or you’re spicing up your plant pot collection, gardening in the bank holiday sunshine is a perfect way to spend the long weekend. With this guide, you can plan out those all-important trips to the garden centre to make sure you don’t miss the last of those summer sales.
When are Wyevale garden centres open this weekend?
With 154 locations across the UK, there is bound to be a Wyveale store near you wherever you may be.
Whether you’re on a staycation in the South of England by the sea or have ventured further north for a country retreat – you can still snap up those deals this weekend at Wyevale.
Open as usual, Wyveale are not adjusting their opening times this bank holiday so you can shop as normal between:
- 9am to 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday
- 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday
- 9am to 5.30pm on bank holiday Monday
By law, retailers are unable to sell items before 10.30am on a Sunday so don’t rush to the checkouts if you’re an early-bird shopper at Wyevale this Sunday.
When is Dobbies garden centre open this weekend?
Dobbies is a large garden retailer boasting 75 UK stores spread right across the country.
If you’re unlucky enough to have to work this weekend, there is still time for you to get to a Dobbies store near you as they are open until 6pm Monday to Saturday.
Sunday hours are a little different, with Dobbies garden centres opening at the later time of 10:30am and closing at 4:30pm.
These hours are no different to their usual opening times so it certainly is business as usual for garden centres this weekend.
Where to save this weekend…
Payday has arrived for many of us and the sales at Dobbies stores will help you stretch your wages that bit further in their sales this weekend.
Dobbies garden centres are offering a site-wide up-to 50 percent discount on their stock this bank holiday weekend.

Shap evergreen hedges to maintain a neat yet vibrant aesthetic and cut back long-flowering perennials to the ground, such as Hardy Geraniums.
Pay your lavender some attention and trim back as it comes to the end of its flowering period – you can read up on how to deadhead lavender here.
Harvest ripe fruits such as berries and plums to use in summer desserts – or maybe stew them up for a sweet addition to that bowl of bank holiday ice cream?
