Spoilers: Two major characters leave the Bay in Home and Away

The spotlight this week in Home and Away is clearly on Colby (Tim Franklin), as his murder trial date arrives and Witness X is revealed. To the shock of the Bay, Willow (Sarah Roberts) elects to betray her friend by secretly recording his confession to the crime – and testifying against him.

In the aftermath of Colby’s sentencing being revealed, Willow realises she can’t stay in the Bay with Bella (Courtney Miller) and Dean (Patrick O’Connor) undoubtedly hating her for the rest of their lives. She makes the decision to leave, packing her bags and driving away.

While Jasmine (Sam Frost) is left realising she has to find a new gym manager as she farewells Willow with Irene (Lynne McGranger), Ryder (Lukas Radovich) has better career news on the horizon. He is surprised to receive the news that he’s been accepted for a TAFE internship on a cruise ship.

However, he decides to turn it down because his family and friends are going through so much. Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) and Bella have been planning to leave the country, Alf (Ray Meagher) and Martha (Belinda Giblin) keep arguing, Roo (Georgie Parker) is having troubles with Owen (Cameron Daddo) and Bella’s brother is on trial for murder.

Alf talks to Ryder, saying he can’t shoulder everyone’s burdens and sacrifice his own life. The internship will open doors for his career, so he tells Ryder he has to take it. After Ryder checks Bella will be OK without him, he decides to accept the internship – and prepares to leave the Bay for his new opportunity.
