Ben (Rohan Nichol) and Maggie (Kestie Morassi) have recently had the biggest conversation of their marriage, as Ben jumped in front of his wife’s car to stop her from leaving the Bay and going to Italy. The pair spent a night talking about Maggie’s mistake with Marco (Tim Walter) and discussing whether they could get through their issues.
They eventually emerge back into the Bay as a reunited couple, much to the delight of their friends. Indeed, the residents of the Bay insist on going out for drinks to celebrate and Maggie finds herself uncomfortable with placing their relationship in the spotlight.
She leaves the drinks early and Ben follows her, where he discovers she is feeling overwhelmed. She questions whether anything will ever be the same again, and confesses she is beginning to doubt whether they can get back into their old pattern before their separation.
The situation becomes worse when Maggie finds out she can’t get her job back as someone else has taken the position – then she struggles to find a replacement. On the spur of the moment, Ben comes up with a solution – why don’t they do what they always dreamed of and move to Italy?
When Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) shows up at the house, she is stunned to discover her parents’ plans, but is happy they are making big plans as a couple. Her shock returns when Ben and Maggie go on to explain they want her to come with them, and they’ll be asking Coco (Anna Cocquerel) too. Will Ziggy give up her life in the Bay – and Dean (Patrick O’Connor) – to begin a new one on the other side of the world?
