The truth about Jimmy Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney

Jimmy Kimmel is an American television host and comedian who has become a common household name due to his TV show, Jimmy Kimmel, Live! Kimmel is known to have success on his show as well as in radio and as a voice actor in multiple animated films and shows.

Known for his hilarious pranks on children, Kimmel himself has four children, two of which are with current wife, Molly McNearney. But who exactly is Molly McNearney?

McNearney and Kimmel have been together for 10 years. The two met on his show when McNearney started as a writer’s assistant. Although Kimmel is very public in other aspects of his life, he doesn’t talk much about his relationship with his wife. Recently, McNearny opened up about their relationship and told Glamour what her first impression of Kimmel was.

“When I first met him, he insulted me!” she said. “The executive producer brought me into his office and said, ‘This is Molly; she’s my new assistant.’ Jimmy barely looked up from his desk until my EP said, ‘She competes in triathlons,’ and then Jimmy looked up at me and said, ‘That is really stupid! What a waste of time.’ That was the first and only thing he probably said to me the entire first year of working there.”

The two later became friends, and things changed in 2009 when they started dating — and three years later, Kimmel proposed. But aside from being Kimmel’s wife, who is Molly McNearney?

Molly McNearney is a writer and producer

McNearney is a writer and producer who not only assisted with the 68th Primetime Emmys and worked on Big Night of Stars, but co-writes her husband’s show Jimmy Kimmel, Live! (via Cheatsheet). McNearney shared that at first she was hesitant to date her boss, but later gave in after Kimmel’s persistence.

In her interview with Glamour, she revealed she does her best to keep their work and personal lives separate, including getting to the office separately.

“At 10 a.m. he’s my boss, not my husband,” she said. “He does say he’s my ‘husboss,’ but I refuse to call him that.”

Molly McNearney is an activist

McNearney is more than just a writer, she is also a human rights activist known for advocating for children’s healthcare. Her activism sparked when her second child with Kimmel was born with a congenital heart defect in 2017.

Both she and Kimmel decided instead of keeping quiet about the situation, they would discuss their son Billy’s condition on the ABC late-night show. At the time, the Affordable Care Act was on the verge of congressional repeal and the two thought this would be a great opportunity to discuss access to health care, as well as explain Kimmel’s week-long absence (via the Hollywood Reporter). McNearney was still on maternity leave but watched the show at home and sobbed through the entire segment.

“I couldn’t believe the strength that it took to tell that story a week after it happened,” she said. “He didn’t have to do that. Our family has excellent health care; he had nothing to gain from that. He did it for the other people whom we met in that hospital. He came home that night, and I just hugged him and I wouldn’t let go.”

McNearney and Kimmel seem to have a very strong relationship and continue to support healthcare advocacy through their individual social media accounts. According to Cheatsheet, the couple holds strong in family values and McNearney maintains a healthy relationship with not only her stepchildren, but Kimmel’s exes as well.

Jimmy Kimmel's Son Billy Is 'Doing Great' 2 Years After Heart Surgery

Jimmy Kimmel’s son Billy had heart surgery in 2017, and now the 2-year-old is “doing great.”

“He thinks he’s Spider-Man now, so we’re safe from crime,” the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host, 51, told Us Weekly exclusively at L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade Brings Together Culinary & Entertainment Stars on Saturday, September 14. “He wears the costume all the time. He’s shooting webs all over the house.”

While Billy hasn’t worn his superhero outfit to school “yet,” Kimmel said, “He goes to preschool as his secret identity and then turns into Spider-Man when he comes home.”

The New York native welcomed his baby boy in April 2017 with his wife, Molly McNearney, joining the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, Jane. Three hours after Billy arrived, doctors noticed that he had a heart murmur and appeared purple, and he was diagnosed with “tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary atresia.” This is when the pulmonary valve is blocked and there is a hole in the heart wall.

“On Monday morning, Dr. Vaughn Starnes opened his chest and fixed one of the two defects in his heart,” Kimmel explained on his ABC show the following month. “He went in there with a scalpel and did some kind of magic that I couldn’t even begin to explain. He opened the valve, and the operation was a success. It was the longest three hours of my life.”

The Serious Goose author went on to say, “He’s doing great. He’s eating. He’s sleeping. He peed on his mother today while she was changing his diaper. He’s doing all the things that he’s supposed to do. This is the best.”

Kimmel, who also is dad of Katie, 28, and Kevin, 25, from his first marriage, told Us on Saturday that his kids “don’t seem to care” that he’s famous. “If I see a billboard with my face on it, I’ll pull over and I make them get up on the roof of the car just so they can really appreciate it, but they don’t,” he joked. “They think everybody’s father’s on TV. Because to them, that’s what’s normal. I don’t think they know the difference between TV and the iPhone really.”

Jimmy Kimmel’s Kid Did Something Pretty Gross at Jennifer Aniston’s House

When you gotta go, you gotta go! Jimmy Kimmel’s daughter Jane, 4, once left her mark on Jennifer Aniston’s backyard.

“Because Jane was a lot younger, she took a s—t in the backyard, right on the lawn, right next to the beautiful pool,” Aniston quipped on the Wednesday, December 5, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The incident occurred after a heavy Friendsgiving meal at the Office Christmas Party star’s house. When Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, got wind of what happened, she bolted to the scene armed with dog poop bags procured from a bartender.

McNearney, 40, waited a year before telling Aniston, 49, what happened. But when the Jimmy Kimmel Live! co-head writer finally shared the story, it was full of good details, including how she needed three bags to clean up the mess!

“She’s healthy!” the Emmy winner teased Kimmel.

The 51-year-old host blamed Jane’s faux pas on the food. “You know why that happened?” he joked. “Because she was so full of turkey.”

Aniston, who was promoting her new Netflix movie Dumplin’, hosts an annual gathering the day before Thanksgiving. And though the Kimmel clan attends every year, he does have one grievance.

“On Thanksgiving, I cook a lot of stuff, the normal turkey, yams or sweet potatoes, you know, the whole deal, but then at your event we had the same thing everyone had the night before again,” he noted. “So in essence, you’ve turned my meal into leftovers.”

Kimmel and McNearney, 40, are also parents of Billy, 19, months. He also shares Katie, 27, and Kevin, 25, with his ex-wife, Gina Kimmel.

Dumplin’ is currently streaming on Netflix.

Why Jimmy Kimmel's Sidekick Guillermo Owes Gambling Debt to Julia Roberts' Children

“Are you running a child gambling ring?” Kimmel asked Guillermo.

Thank lady luck Julia Roberts didn’t have to call Danny Ocean to break his kneecaps.

The "Ocean’s 11" star outed Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo on national TV Thursday night, revealing he owed her two young sons a gambling debt.

After greeting Kimmel, Roberts, who was at the late-night show to promote her new TV series "Homecoming," shot a hello at Guillermo and immediately brought up the payment.

"Here I owe you five dollars," Guillermo said and Kimmel replied, "What is this all about?!"

"Is it five dollars or six dollars?" Roberts asked.

"I think it was five, but I’ll give you six," Kimmel’s sidekick replied.

The actress explained to Kimmel that Guillermo made bets with her sons, Finn, 13, and Henry, 11, on the World Cup. Guillermo had picked Brazil to win, while one of Roberts’ boys had chosen France, who won.

"Are you running a child gambling ring?" Kimmel joked and then asked, "Wait, hold on a second, where are you guys hanging out together?"

"We were hanging out at a Taylor Swift concert," Guillermo replied.

As Kimmel and the audience began to laugh, Roberts responded, "the story just gets better and better."

"Well, bring the money over here will you?!" Kimmel told Guillermo.

Guillermo asked Roberts if she preferred the payment in singles, a five or quarters just in case she wanted to do laundry.

"That’s good. A lot of times they’ll send a guy to break people’s legs, but in this case your son sent their mom," Kimmel said.

"Well I did call the dentist earlier," Roberts joked.

See how the whole bet went down in the clip below.

Jimmy Kimmel's Latest 'Mean Tweets' Picks on Musicians like Pink, Tyga, Halsey, Miley Cyrus and Poor Nickelback

Other musical targets include Jason Mraz, Dua Lipa, Schoolboy Q, Gwen Stefani, Jason Derulo, Elvis Costello, The Strokes and more!

In honor of the "American Music Awards," Jimmy Kimmel’s latest edition of "Mean Tweets" took aim at the world of popular music.

It must have truly been an honor for luminaries such as Miley Cyrus, P!nk, Elvis Costello, Jason Derulo, Gwen Stefani, G-Eazy, Luke Bryan, Dua Lipa and Halsey, among others, to sink their teeth into the venomous viper pit that is the Internet.

Their reactions ranged from Miley Cyrus simply flipping off the camera to P!nk smiling and saying "thank you" with crossed eyes after being told she "is aging pretty well for a pig."

Schoolboy Q laughed and agreed with whoever wrote that he was "uglier than a motherf–ker," while Halsey could only laugh at the very visual description of her singing voices.

Some of the artists, like Jason Derulo, Dua Lipa, The Strokes, Luke Bryan and Elvis Costello, were hit with insults so crude and awful, we’re not even comfortable sharing them here.

Some of the others at least got some creativity with their burns, like Luke Combs being told he "looks like the guy who changes your oil at Jiffy Lube" and Jason Mraz being described as "the unofficial soundtrack for s–t BBQs."

But nobody got hit quite as hard as the one-two punch of Korn and Nickelback, who have somewhat unfairly become the punchline for so many music-related jokes. First, someone wrote of Korn, "F–k those guys more than Nickelback," which hit the group pretty hard.

Then, Nickelback got to read someone’s nuanced critique, "I would rather stab myself in the taint than hear another Nickelback song." After a beat, Chad Kroeger shot back, "That’s funny. That’s how we make Nickelback songs."

Check out all the sick burns, and hilarious reactions, in the latest edition of "Mean Tweets" above.

Kanye West claims he had an answer for Jimmy Kimmel’s Trump question

‘I wasn’t stumped’: Kanye West hits back at claims he went silent when asked by Jimmy Kimmel about his support for Trump and says he ‘wasn’t given the chance to answer the question’

  • The 41-year-old controversial rapper shared his thoughts on Saturday following his Thursday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live
  • Kanye West appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night to discuss his latest album Ye, his mental illness, and his support of Trump
  • He said: ‘Let me clarify the click bait. I wasn’t stumped. I wasn’t given a chance to answer the question’
  • And while he vented his frustration about not being able to speak on his thoughts, West didn’t share them on social media

Kanye West took to Twitter to defend his inability to respond to a question comparing Donald Trump and George W. Bush’s treatment of black people, stating that he wasn’t ‘given a chance to answer the question’.

The 41-year-old controversial rapper shared his thoughts on Saturday following his Thursday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, adding that the host cutting to commercial prevented him from answering.

‘On Jimmy Kimmel we had a great time having a dialogue. I’m reading that I was stumped by a question,’ he said on Saturday.

‘Let me clarify the click bait. I wasn’t stumped. I wasn’t given a chance to answer the question.’

The 41-year-old controversial rapper shared his thoughts on Saturday following his Thursday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live

‘On Jimmy Kimmel we had a great time having a dialogue. I’m reading that I was stumped by a question,’ he said on Saturday. ‘Let me clarify the click bait. I wasn’t stumped. I wasn’t given a chance to answer the question’

‘The question was so important I took time to think. And then I was hit with the let’s go to commercial break. That interview showed strong personalities with different opinions having a civil conversation.’

West utilizes the moment to voice his disdain for ‘click bait’ but fails to take the opportune chance to give his answer on Twitter.

The controversial rapper has used social media to clarify his questionable points in the past.

After West’s debacle on TMZ where he alluded to slavery being a choice, the artist took to Twitter and posted a quote from Harriet Tubman in an effort to better support his point.

He added: ‘The question was so important I took time to think. And then I was hit with the let’s go to commercial break. That interview showed strong personalities with different opinions having a civil conversation’

President Donald Trump thanked Kanye West for telling ‘the truth’ during West’s Jimmy Kimmel Live interview.

‘Thank you to Kanye West and the fact that he is willing to tell the TRUTH. One new and great FACT – African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in the history of our Country. So honored by this. Thank you Kanye for your support. It is making a big difference!” Trump tweeted Friday afternoon.

On Thursday, the controversial rapper and fashion designer spoke with Jimmy Kimmel about his support for Trump explaining that other people cannot control his actions.

‘Just as a musician, African American, everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me and then told me that I couldn’t say that I like Trump,’ he said.

Kimmel went on to ask about Kim Kardashian’s recent visit to the White House where she met with the president.

‘Were you ever concerned about her being alone in the Oval Office with President Trump?’ Kimmel asked.

‘Well, he is a player,’ Kanye joked.

Kanye West appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night the talk show host asked him about his support for Trump and mental illness

When asked if he thinks that ‘Donald Trump would care about black people,’ West remained quiet, forcing Kimmel to go to commercial, thus never answering the question.

‘There are families being torn apart at the border of this country,’ Kimmel said, ‘Whether we like his personality or not, his actions are what matter. You so famously and so powerfully said, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” What makes you think that Donald Trump does, or any people at all?’

West tilted his head to think, said nothing and the show then went to break.

The interview also toggled between light-hearted jokes and serious talks about West’s mental disorder.

The talk show host discussed his recent album Ye and the song I Thought About Killing You along with the quote on the album cover which reads: ‘I hate being biopolar. It’s awesome’.

No Homecoming for Kanye West: Rapper’s childhood Chicago…

‘It’s important for us to have open conversations about mental health,’ Kanye said. ‘We never had therapists in the black community.’

The father-of-three went on to address his now infamous TMZ Live interview from May in which he said slavery ‘sounds like a choice’.

He reflected on the controversial moment positively as he said: ‘What was awesome is the world got to really experience someone in a ramped-up state. And that’s when you get these comments that just shoot out, almost like Tourette’s.’

Back in May he appeared on TMZ’s show and infamously said: ‘You were there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. It’s like we’re mentally imprisoned.’

They continued to talk about his newest album and the song Violent Crimes.

In the track Kanye addresses his two daughters – five-year-old North and six-month-old Chicago – as he expresses fear over them dating when they get older.

Kimmel, 50, then asked him if having daughters has made the Gold Digger hitmaker change his views on women.

West responded: ‘Nah I still look at Pornhub.’

The host jokingly asked about what his favorite genre of porn was to which Kanye sincerely responded: ‘Blacked is my favorite category.’

Kimmel then insisted that he actually didn’t need to answer that but the Life Of Pablo hitmaker stood firm.

Kanye said: ‘What’s the point of being Kanye West if you can’t let’s break down the porn categories.

‘A lot of black on white, obviously.’
